Let's Get The Story Straight
Mark Whitecotton is one of many Mark Whitecottons in the world. The one I'm referencing apparently lives in Baltimore. He is not a blogger or someone who is involved with anything online. He doesn’t have a computer. His name is being linked with blogs and commenters all over the net. Why? Because there is a bitter queen in D.C. who had a falling out with a blogger (Steve of Defying Despondency). Steve had interacted with this bitter person on the telephone. It is the only person he has ever spoken to on this private phone line; which became an active number in June, 2007. Steve pays fees for a private line. He also paid a fee to have the number listed in a name other than his own (Mark Whitecotton, not realizing that it would be correlated in the real world, as it is rather a fairy-tale, fictitious kind of name. A name which has been used on the net as a screen-name, not related to this real guy outside of the blogosphere). He did this because the number is for incoming telemarketing calls, cold calls for his company, and any individuals which he would desire to interact with on the net. It is horrible to witness the slandering and defamation of someone’s name. Mark Whitecotton has been called a liar, one who suffers from multiple personality disorder, an internet stalker; and so many other things. It’s sad that I feel a need to write this post. But it’s the world we live in today. I forgot to mention that address, phone number, and pictures were placed on a few of these blogs. This has led to death threats of those bloggers associated with the name Mark Whitecotton, and crazy people showing up at one’s residence, jeopardizing safety and a sense of security. Finally, I’ve included tags corresponding with those who’ve blogged the most about this drama.
